Ella Kate Harrison
Ella Harrison is primarily a painter and colourist. Her recent work explores the process of making and its connection to mental health. Motifs and marks are repeated obsessively creating these “brain like” abstract pieces. She plays with colour and endeavours to find the perfect combinations to spark joy in herself and the viewer. Her intuitive ‘colour doodles’ grow and dance, beginning in a corner of the surface and spreading like roots. Harrison also creates large scale murals, installations and small -scale sculpture.
Ella is a lover of the natural world and her travels around the globe have inspired her work, both abstract and narrative. She is also influenced by her role as an artist educator, is interested in metacognition and how creativity is a collaborative practise.
Ella is London based and exhibits regularly. She studied at Camberwell College of Arts (UAL) followed by the Institute of Education (UCL). She can be found working from a studio in South London.
